Why The Education System Is Failing Our Children

What exactly is what is the Biden Administration doing (a) to assist the 15 to 43 percent of children affected by trauma in the US, (b) to assist the 3 million people who are deficient in food and must ask their teacher for food and (c) to provide schools with the right equipment to teach children to write and read?

The reason is that as an outcome of the case that was Citizens United in 2010 which allowed unlimited spending in elections, decisions of the government are influenced by campaign contributions which is a legalized form of bribery.

Children don’t vote, so they aren’t able to compete with corporations in the areas of power that are filled with lobbyists’ cash.

The people who control the government are not educated about the educational system.
For instance, the current Democratic candidate for governor’s seat in Virginia, Terry McAuliffe recently declared that parents don’t have the authority to decide what is required on the school curriculum.

The Governor may have been in political motives, appealing towards members of the Teachers Union and the School Boards.

However, if the person who is aspiring to lead the state’s government doesn’t realize that public schools are the responsibility of the taxpayers who pay for them How can he be trusted to change the system?

The public may contribute money to fund the public schools, but the majority of the money comes from property taxes , which create huge funding gaps between poor and wealthy communities. A more equitable system is to make use of state taxes to fund the schools as in Indiana as well as Michigan.

Young people are the society’s most valuable treasure. However, society is failing the children. Children who have been traumatized are unable to learn and are more susceptible to violence. Children who are not fed properly cannot learn to read or write, and tend to be in prison institution instead of a school of higher education.

The shortcomings of our educational system are not just stifling opportunities for our most brightest, but it is also causing a decline in the global rankings, particularly in the fields of mathematics and science.

When the government is in violation of the Constitution and is not doing its duty, it is the responsibility of the citizens to intervene and take action to correct the situation..

First, we must pass firstly a Constitutional Amendment to reverse Citizens United and to restore democracy in our electoral process.

The second requirement is that people not vote against instead of for the candidate. The tactic voting system allows for candidates who aren’t worthy of public office.

Young people are an inaccessible source of talent, and it is crucial to provide them the tools they need to flourish, such as eliminating student loans that impede growth.

This calls for the creation of a Department of Children and Youth to provide trauma-informed education and wrap-around services, restorative justice and conflict resolution, as well as mindfulness and mental health services in schools.

The elected officials must be thoroughly vetted as well as held to account for the actions they do, always remembering that they are working for the people , not vice versa.

PS. I am grateful to Marianne Williamson, former Democratic Presidential candidate,
to some ideas outlined in this article.
